Lately I've been getting a lot of ignition noise through my radio. It sounds like a rough hum and increases in pitch as I rev the engine. I can even hear it if the radio is off!

My radio is the stock CDR-220.

What could be causing this? Do I have a loose ground connection?

Most common cause I've heard about is corrosion or loose antenna connections.

If it's AM reception, then there is a TSB that details a Suppression Kit that needs to be installed on pre Oct 1998 build cars.

Hi Loren,

I hear it when I'm listening to FM and when the radio is off. Also, my car is a 2001 so I don't think the TSB applies.

When you mention corrosion are you talking about the antenna connection?
