Hi Everyone, I am new to the forum and from sunny South Africa.

I recently bought a '97 Boxster with 142000km with full Porsche service history. The red "roof operation" light has been on since I bought her. I knew there was a problem with the roof when i bought the car, my problem is the nearest Porsche dealer is more than 300km away so I have to resolve the problem with your help.

I have tried everything that I have read here on the forum and nothing works. The roof is stuck in the down position, I have followed all the correct procedures, handbrake on with the brake light showing on the cluster, I have checked both fuses, I have removed the relay, tapped it and replaced it, the windows drop down 2 inches when I take the hardtop off, when I press the roof button the only sound is a slight click from the relay. The red roof light remains permanently on and the windows do not go up unless I push the top hook button above the rear-view mirror. I have applied power directly to the roof motor and it works perfectly, I have checked all the micro switches with a multimeter and they are all operating. Please help me identify the problem.
