hi all, i am having a little trouble with locating the correct transmission mount for my tiptronic 996, i have searched but no definate answers for my model, the later mercedes transmission has the complete bracket, does mine need to be pressed out and also which mount do i use and where to get if from? any help would be much appreciated

so would i be right in assuming that both the man and tip mount is the same item??

As far as I can tell from the pictures in the porsche parts catalog, yes they are the same - but sometimes those are just representative.

There was a similar question in that earlier thread but it remains unanswered. You might have luck searching more.

It's pretty easy to tell if you have your car up on jacks/lift/ramp, you might have to remove one underbody panel with some plastic nuts, but then it is easy to peel/bend back the covers to see the mount and it's condition.

Alternatively you could call a dealer to get the proper part number.

i think those piks are generic they appear identical im pretty sure the tip and man cases are different, thanks for your help buddy il keep searching i spoke to my local parts dealer who said they didnt have a listing which was great help, il try calling the service department and try them, i would say they are fairly worn my car has done 166k and the engine mount were split which i have changed but still not happy with the smoothness idle cheers
