hi everyone,

Recently bought a 2011 GT3RS with a nose lifter. At times, the nose lifter takes awhile to indicate "lift" on the dash board (although the car actually lifts itself). Sometimes, it doesn't light up at all even though the nose is lifted, as such the car can't be lowered. Was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and any solutions to this?

I know nothing about the GT3 lifter, but what you describe sounds like a bad sensor, be it a microswitch or some other kind of device to detect the state of your lift. With a car this new, the dealer should diagnose and replace for free.

I also have the nose lift on a .2RS. When the car is moving it goes up and down without problem. When I park the car after having lifted the nose (to get in my drive) it never goes down: I have to wait until next time I drive the car, and then it goes down.

I've had the same problem with my GT3. Once the car is stopped, the nose doesn't want to go down. Seems to work if I back out of my garage and pull in again.

I recently drove a 2011 GT3 with Nose lift and my experience was the same. Perhaps it is designed to stay up at stops. I did not get the light to glow but noticed a slight lift.

Does 1" lift really help?

There are 3 pressure switches in the pneumatic lift system on the GT3.

 

997 341 964 90 - pressure switch until pump

997 341 967 90 - pressure switch from pump

997 341 963 90 - pressure switch

 

One of these pressure switches registers when the pressure in the shock absorbers has reached 13 bar, and causes the LIFT indication to appear on the display.  Until this pressure switch has activated, LIFT won't appear and pushing the button won't cause the car to lower.  I believe this is the pressure switch that causes the failures described above - I'm just not sure which of the above part numbers is the correct one to replace.  Anyone know?

2010 RS - same issue.

Front axle lift - goes up doesn't go down with button. Goes down at designated sped (40 mph I think). Porsche Platinum warranty should cover.
