I just had my mechanic program a new key for the Targa. Now, when you hit the trunk release, it will unlock the doors but not the rear trunk. I have listened closely but hear no noise indicating attempted release of the mechanism. I'm not sure if it is just a coincidence and might be an actuator. Also, you can release the trunk with the button by the driver's seat. If anyone has an idea of what is wrong, I would greatly appreciate the information.

Thanks,

Could be a binding latch too. I would look for wear and proper adjustment.

You can use the emergency release near the left rear tail light to get it open.

How to use it? It's under the light.

Last time I cleaned the rear bulbs I saw the cable, but I don't know how to use it when the tail is closed and lights are mounted.
