2006 Carrera S purchased used with AWE headers, cats, mufflers, Evolution motorsports intake. Periodically get P0420 & P0430 error codes. Usually self clears in a week, then comes on in a few days. Car does not seam to perform any different. Where should I start?

I think its fairly common to have 'Oxygen Sense Errors w/ aftermarket Cats.

Assuming you have a 'Cat' problem and you have AWE or some brand of aftermarket 'Cat' you won't get Porsche to replace them.

If they were OEM Cats and you were below the 8 year/80K mile mark they would take care of it.

You might want to check w/ AWE or whom ever manufactured your Cats to see what sort of warranty or solution is offered.

Since I am not the orignal purchaser of the exhaust system, AWE does not stand behind their product. Already tried to get them to fix the muffler that split the entire length of the weld. Had a local shop repair, not really a big deal. I had a friend tell me that in the muscle cars, they make and in-line adapter to the O2 sensor that fools the computer, is something like that available for the Porsche system?

Phil,

There are a few options.... Have a look here http://shop.fvd.de/us/en/Porsche-0/997_TT_GT2-126/-/-/group/show/VID_25700397-VCD_98580036-gid_29-sort_4-display_5/Catalytics.html

You should be able to find something specific to the CATS you have installed...

Thanks for the advice. Installed O2 simulators. They are basically spacer tubes that take the O2 sensors out of the main exhaust stream. Easy install, no more check engine lights.
