Sorry I didn't clarify the request further. I have heard that there is a source on the net that sells CD's of the shop manuals. I don't know if these are bootleg CD's or legit CD's but I do not think they are supplied by Porsch.

Thx...

Jim

The owners manual is available online here.

If you are looking for the service manual Porsche sells sections or a yearly subscription here

If you are looking for factory manuals and they are not supplied by Porsche -- then they are bootleg. There are some third party manuals out there but they are not very good (IMHO).

I agree with Loren that the third party manuals aren't very good, and the bootleg Porsche manuals are pretty poor quality usually. However, this week I bought one on eBay made by LexCom Informationssysteme GmbH in Germany, which seems to have been made for Porsche, or with their approval, perhaps. It is a properly indexed and bookmarked pdf copy of the factory manuals, and covers 1998-2001 models. If you see one of these, go for it - it's the real deal.

I am sure there is lots of good information there. Just a note: since 2001 (which it says it covers 1999 to 2001) there have been at least 50 supplements with corrections, updates and additions to the service manual. I would say well over 1000 new pages. Still a good place to start if you need a manual.

there are a lot of little things that i'm surprised arn't covered in the manual. for instance it doesn't cover installation of all the trim bits, rear seats and what not. installation of suspensions and stuff.

i'm guesing this stuff is covered in suplements.

Loren, how much does porche charge per suppliment? like 50 bucks?

Supplements range from $8 to $11 each retail. Some dealers do not give discounts on manuals/supplements at all. Some dealers will take your order and not follow up on it - so they never ship (I won't name them here). So, I suggest you give Sunset Imports (Porsche Parts at Dealer Cost) a try - they came through for me.
