Ok, I want to start off with I have a 2002 996 c2. I bought the car alittle over a month ago and have done some maintence stuff since the previous owner did not. When I first got the car the one headlight (oem litronic) was cracked and so I decided on buying oem set of lights from Wicked Porsche who mostly does conversions so they have a decent amount of headlights on hand. I got a pretty good price for the lights and they were in great shape (no yellowish lens). Another thing I noticed was the ignition switch when I put the key in to start the car was either getting stuck too much to the right or the key was getting stuck in the ignition. So therefore I replaced the ignition switch and it fixed those problems. Until of course the new problem occurred lastnight while I was waiting for my wife to come out of the store. I had my car running and decided to shut off the headlights . When my wife came out of the store , I went to turn on the headlights, and to my surprise they did not turn on. The lights that did turn on were city lights in the headlight and also sidemarker light. I actually had to engage the highbeams which I had pull towards me to keep them on. Alittle background prior to putting the new headlights I upgraded the fuses from 7.5 to 25. After arriving home I decided to shut off the car and inspect what may have caused this headlight issue. I checked the fuses but both of them were, ok. I then decided to turn the car back on and turn the headlight switch on and still no lights. After several attempts the headlights decided to come on but once I shut off the headlights and tried to put them back no dice. So what do you think it is?

Just added note, I went to car this morning turned on the headlights and they work fine... what is the deal? I have researched this issue on this forum as well is the other ones but want to know if I am correct thinking its the headlight switch. If so where is the cheapest place to get it. Couple places have them but they range from $123 to on ebay 207.

I would change out the head light switch. They do fail and it's a component common to both lights. May I ask why you changed the fuse from 7.5 A to 25 Amp?

Thanks for the response, I read that the oem litronic fuses should be 15 but all I had at the time was 25. That is really only reason why I did it.
