My state requires an annual inspection, and my '04 986S was just failed by the mechanic for below-spec front rotors. His sources say '97-2007 Boxster S front rotors must be replaced at 1.024" (26mm) and mine are at 1.010" and 1.002" (25.65 & 25.45mm). Quick web search shows those numbers look right for '05-07, but not my 04. I tried arguing with him, but he's sticking to his books. Is there an authoritative source on this, like an official Porsche manual I can reference? He's not going to take Pelican Parts or Bentley's word for it.

Or am I mistaken and he's right and my rotors really do need to be replaced?

Technically he is correct - it is 26 mm on the fronts and 22 mm on the rears.

This is from the Porsche Boxster Service Manual:

Thanks, Loren. I discovered the rotors are stamped "Min Th 26mm" too. I must have been looking at the wear limits for base 986 rotors.
