Convertible roof operation for 993?

Here's a nice easy one, I have bought a 993 911 Cabriolet but I can't get the roof down- I also don't have an owner's manual yet so I don't even know if I am doing the right thing- can someone tell me how to lower the roof?( I had this happen with my New Beetle Cabrio and found out by watching a you-tube video that I was simply doing the wrong thing.

Ensure that the key is on (doesn't have to be running) & parking brake is applied. There's a microswitch in there that won't allow operation if the brake isn't on. Beyond that, you should just push & hold the top button until the cab top retracts fully. Same going up: brake on, button held until top down & locking motors engaged.

If it's any more difficult than this then something's wrong. Likely suspect if you get no noise would be:

1) Microswitch in parking brake

2) Cold solder joints in controller module inside lower dash just above left knee (US). This is a well documented problem around here & sister sites and an easy DIY fix. Had to fix mine last summer.

3) Fuse - I suppose there's a fuse somewhere -never checked cause honestly, is it EVER the fuse, lol?

Beyond these easy fixes you're into motors, cables, etc. My bet's on op error or cold solder joints..
