The glove box handle (996 552 350 01) has broken on my car. Does anyone know whether it is possible to replace this with the glove compartment in the car, or does it need removing before dismantling to fit the new handle?

Thanks Loren.

Did a search but this post didn't come up.

I did mine while sitting in the passenger's seat. I am surprised we don't hear of these breaking more often. The little actuating loops are fragile.

This article was very helpful. Is there any guidance available in swapping the glove box latch lock from the broken part to the new part. My is an 03 996 C2 Cab. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Loren,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am brand new to this forum. I am already in receipt of the link provided. Where I am looking for guidance is how to remove the lock assembly from the latch assembly so that it can be installed in the new replacement latch assembly. Is there any available guidance on this item?

Thanks again,

Shawn
