Head light Tray removal HELP!

I recently had my headlights stolen and in the process they broke the trays.I got headlights and trays from wicked porsche. I need to know how to remove the broken trays. Any help would be great

The 996 has about 4 different trays. You

should check your tray part number (996 631 173 00).

The bow piece number 16 locks in the light.

Look at you owner's manual and it will show you

how to remove the light.

I am sorry I was not clear on what I was trying to do. I am actually trying to remove the entire part #20 and put a new one.. As the lights were stolen and they broke the actual tray #20

Here is the details for the adjustment of tray. It looks

like the tray sits on the adjusters.

As Paul said, held in by the adjusters. Buy new ones since the old ones tend to corrode. The 2 flat nuts with the shoulders are placed on each side of the tray and the knurled nut is actually the adjuster. It may be easier to remove the wheel liner to do the major adjusting to avoid numerous removals of the light to get it right.

How much do you think a body shop would cost me to put the trays in?

I would say about one to two hours labor if he

has worked on Porsche's. You have to remove

the wheels to remove the wheel liners.

The design is extremely poor as well cause the light harness that clips into the back of the light never lines up with the back of the headlight.. any tricks? I have the clip/harness for the headlight where it was suppose to be on the old trays but for some reason everytime I would take out the headlights and then put them back in.. I would never get lucky and have them line up with the harness.

It looks like a screw driver unlocks it so

it must snap back into place. See
