I've had my 2004 996 C4S cab, tip for almost 4 years now, it is my second 996. This has turned out to be a great car. It has run flawlessly, has seen some cold winter driving, and the automatic transmission, notwithstanding it's an older generation tiptronic, has turned out to be bullet proof and a real plus on the track. I have had no problems except for normal maintenance and a change to my alternator. The car runs beautifully and, to me anyway, is one of Porsche's nicest looking 911s. For those of you looking for a relatively inexpensive older model this would be it from my perspective. No RMS issues from what I can see and the C4S cab gets compliments everywhere I go.

beautiful color combo!

My first car was a nearly new 996 C4S and it was great although it provided much driver aid "PSM, 4 wheel drive, wide track". My second and current Porsche is a 996 (the only manual car I found out in Kuwait was a Carrera within my budget, all C4S's were auto). I've spent GBP7k on upgrades at the dealer in my search to fix the car which 'was not like my C4S I had in the UK". New M30 Sports Suspension (as per the C4S), Hard backed sports seats (to cure the "I'm sure the seats in my C4S were lower"), new discs/pads (to cure the "My C4S seamed to stop better"), Wheel alignment, Switchable Sports exhuast, A Lot of New Interior Trim. At the end of all this, and after attending a Porsche Driving School course, I know appreciate the car for what it is and am enjoying it more than the C4S. Having said all that, the C4S is a much better looking car!!
