986 front lower flaps

Hi I've just replaced the lower front flaps on my 2002 Boxster S. They tend to get damaged hitting bumps and kerbs. My nearside one was completely gone.

Left and right relacements from Porsche were about 23 pounds for the pair. p/n P996.504.503.00 and P996.504.504.00 . A ten minute job to remove and replace. Three philips screws holding each. I've seen some posts that describe them as mud guards, but according to 'The Ultimate Owners' Guide' by Mark Bennett they extract hot air away from the radiators and can have an effect on handling.

Only on 986 models. On the 987 they are integrated with wheel arch liner.

Not an expensive fix.

I just did mine on our 98 986 95k miles. You are correct 6 screws and swaped out 10mins and they look allot better.
