I just recently picked up a 2009 Cayenne (base v6). It currently only has 15k miles. I noticed a slight shaking/rumble at idle on a cold start. I also noticed this here and there stopped at a stoplight. Is this normal for these engines?

It's a very slight shake, more like a rumble, doesn't appear to be a rough idle and I didn't notice any fluctuations in rpms.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Could it be the A/C cycling on and off? Try turning it off when the problem is occuring. I take it there is no check engine light on.

I notice it when the A/C is off too. When it has that slight shake, it isn't really like an on and off, it's more of a constant shake, very slight though.

Did the coil problem apply to these years also? I will probably just take it to the dealer and have them take a look. I have to take care of a buzz noise coming from the lower dash area anyway.

Thanks!

If it was a misifre from a faulty ignition coil it should the set the check engine light on straight away and if severe enough it would cause the light to flash on and off meaning damage is being done to the catalytic convertors.Do not operate the vehicle if the check engine light is flashing. I'm not aware of there being a coil fault for your model year.
