Hi Folks,

New to this forum and looking to buy a 993. I had the owner of a car I'm looking at tell me he is not sure if this is an oil leak or something that happened when the oil was recently changed. Any ideas? I can tell you most anythign about a 914, but no idea on a 993. Appreciate any help or ideas... I'm tryign to get enough confidence in the car to shell out for a proper PPI at a dealership.

Sorry, my mistake. That is not an A/C it is an oil line

Maybe Loren can put a picture of the EPC for the oil hoses

You would think if the guy was selling the car he would clean something like this up

It looks like spillage and not cleaned properly. It is very easy to overfill the oil tank on the 993 when adding oil. I would have the area cleaned with brake clean and then loads of hot water, monitor and see if any leakage returns. I highly recommend a PPI as it is money well spent.

I talked to the shop that recently did a compelte vehicle inspection and poverhaul. They think it is where one of their tech's overfilled and suggested to clean and observe as noted above. Sounds like this is minor, but I'm proceeding cautiously none the less.

Appreciate everyone's feedback! :-)
