6speed manual transmission mount replacement

Hi,

I have a 1998 996 C2 6-speed that shifts sideways when letting go of the accellerator after a full throttle acceleration. The car milage is approx 40 000.

I have ordered new RS engine mounts, but wonder if I should also change the transmission mount just to be sure.

Anybody know the transmission mount part no?

Is changing the transmission mount a DIY job??

Hi there. It takes guts, but yes, the trans mount can be done as a DIY.

Puuuh,

That seems like a lot of work! I'll think I'll strart with the engine mounts first and hopefully that will cure the problems :-)
