I have found that the local Porsche dealerships have no interest in adjusting caster on my stock 2006 Cayman S. It is slightly and evenly out of spec (low). I would like to get more caster and not have the steering as light. One dealer said it was not adjustable on the Cayman and the other said it was possible to get some adjustment in a round about way when adjusting other parts of the suspension but they ignored caster in general when its kind of close. I was told a degree of caster was not noticeable.

Can the caster be adjusted on the stock 2006 Cayman S suspension?

Also, how does caster get reduced when there isn't any body/frame damage? Thanks.

Caster is not adjustable on 987, 987C, 997, 997S and 997Turbo. Hope it helps.

I'm getting contradicting responses. Apparently caster can be adjusted some, but not directly. I'll be going in for an alignment soon. I'll post how much change I get and what is sacrificed in toe or camber etc.

From the 987/987C Porsche Service Manual - Section 44 95 03 Suspension alignment, complete:

"Adjusting caster

The caster is not adjustable on standard vehicles."

I see. Thanks. What does one do when caster is out of spec? Actually, was I mistaken to be concerned when presented with a specified range from 7 degrees 30 minutes to 8 degrees 30 minutes on the alignment printout and my caster is between 7 degrees 10 minutes and 15 minutes? Do you know a couple of good sources for the service manual?
