Driver Side Window Glass Failed to Drop

I just went out and held my thumb on the window while pulling the door handle and 1/16th" is overstated I guess. It makes noise and it moves down but probably only like a couple millimeters.

Inside latch definitely does NOT move window.

I can push the window down by hand about 1/4", passenger window cannot and both latches lower window about 1/2".

You still think regulator Loren, anybody else?

Almost definitely your regulator. Plus, the microswitch behind the inside door latch may be faulty or it has become disconnected.

I'm still debating on whether to tackle this myself or take it to my dealer Maurice.

I'm going to go through the step by step one more time and then make a decision. I've got so many unfinished projects around the house that my marriage may be the better for me just letting the dealer fix it if it's going to be an all day deal. :-)

Either way, I'll definitely post up what the root issue is.

After you have removed the door panel once or twice, it can be reduced to around 1 hour or so.

Then, with the money you save, you can buy a nice present for your wife. ;)

Sorry, the window regulator has an MSRP of $239.05 -- so it look like your dealer took advantage.

Blitzkrieg, if you're still around, what was the result after calling the dealer on their window regulator "pricing" practices?

Appears my window is doing something similar. Opening the driver's side door of my '99 Boxster, from the inside/outside, the window moves just a bit, but doesn't drop down like it should. I can push the window down slightly, close the door normally, and the window does go back up all the way. Same thing when I keep the door open and push the door latch closed manually, the window moves up as it should. Just doesn't drop down much, if at all.

I guess a new window regulator, 996-542-075-04, is in my future...

I ended up fixing it myself with a $2 bike cable barrel adjuster.

I just had same done to my passenger window:

Regulator: $206.00 @ Suncoast Parts

Indy 1.5hr labor: $150.00

So yea the stealership lived up to their name which is why I never set foot in one.
