Krytox vs. Silicone Lubricant

Krytox lubricant was recommended in a couple of Porsche's TSB for eliminating the rubber squeaking. However, I could only locate Silicone lubricant in hardware stores. Do they pretty much serve the same purpose? The instruction for the Silicone lubricant does say so though.

I went into a Leslie's pool supplies yesterday to get some chlorine tablets. They had some "Pool and Spa Lube" (sounds kind of kinky), and when I glanced at the label, it said "Formulated with DuPont Krytox" and costs about $5 for a little tube. Here's a product link. Has anyone tried this stuff for getting rid of rubber squeaking? It also listed silicon as an ingredient, so I'm not sure how well it will work. I was in a hurry, so didn't get to talk to the guy behind the counter about it. Any feedback appreciated...

Is it not advisable to use silicone lubricant if you happen to have some? I'm thinking on all the seals. Undoubtedly some will get on atleast the top of the windows. Would that be detrimental?

Krytox is a dry lubricant and the silicone grease above is "greasy" will not dry. The silicone grease will also pick up dirt and debris.

You want something that is Krytox only (no silicone).

I'm struggling to find a UK supplier for Krytox.

Is it the stuff under the heading Anti-squeak/creak/rattle on GBRTECH

BMW has a similar product - Gummi Pflege (spelling?). It might be easier to find.

I have used Silicone spray....that works wonders.

hi, so adding this Krytox lubricant will stop the folding of the rubber seal on the outside of the window when the windows are closing?

I dont know if this is correct.... my windows have stopped in its tracks when I try to lower them.... the rubber seal on the outside of the window is folding down in the window so its preventing it from going down.... does this Krytox Lubricant fix the problem?
