Hello everyone. As a newbie owner I let my battery die. Connected a maintainer to the cigarette lighter and car will start but remotes dont work, red light on lock button stays on and cannot open trunk. Any ideas before I go to the dealer.

Replace the remote battery.

After replacing the remote battery if the light still stays on then you need to reset the remote.

You can reset the remote by reversing the battery in the remote for just a few seconds. Remove the battery - wait 10 seconds and then reinsert it the proper way.

If it after that it still does not work - then you likely need to have it reprogrammed with a Porsche PST2 or PIWIS tester or a new remote is needed.

Loren,

I had the same symptoms as described above - red led on full time no buttons working on the remote. I purchased a new battery and put it in with the correct polarity and it did not work so I pulled the new battery out and reversed the polarity for a few seconds then reinserted the new battery with the correct polarity and wah-lah all back to normal.

Ironic that this post came in about the same time I needed the help.

Thanks again!!
