The throttle cable attaching to the throttle body on my '99 Boxster seems to have quite a bit of slack.

macster commented a while back, but could not find anything conclusive.

I checked the gas pedal assembly and around the throttle body itself but did not find anything that allows for adjustment.

Ideas are welcome!

I think if you have a lot of slack it is not proper installed.

Perhaps one of the Boxster guys can take picture for you of the proper path for the cable.

Here is a shot. Not sure if it will help.

That is one clean engine if I may say so.

Hey, thanks!

I followed Orient Express's lead. Concentrate of SImple Green and water from garden hose worked well in my case!

Check the two (2) circled items in the photo below.

Checked routing of the throttle cable, and it is identical to the picture provided (Thanks kbrandsma!).

What appears to be a adjustment screw in your picture above, is actually not, unless I am really missing something obvious here.

Where to look for next?

Joost:

Take a look at the point where the cable is attached and routed to the bottom outside surface of the rear firewall on the driver's side. There is a little curved black plastic cover installed on that little housing that you have to pull off to have a good look.

I too need to adjust the throttle cable. I have the cover off the adjustment box and it is just a set of cams connecting two cables. There seems to be an adjuster on the cable going to the throuttle body but I can not get it to move. Any clues?
