have got a 996 with H&R coilovers and gt3 adjustable sways (installed about 6k miles and 1 1/2 years ago). not too long ago i noticed on the highway that when i let off the gas the steering wheel rotated and the car pulled a little and then straightened out. this happens any time i have at least 3k rpm and either give it gas or let off the gas (iow, anytime i transfer weight front to rear or rear to front) - and when i let of the gas to push in the clutch when changing gears, etc. i took it to the shop to have it checked out since the last time i experienced something like this my rear tierod bolt fell off at 70 mph on the highway shortly after (different car) resulting in a totaled car and a lucky me to escape scratchless. anyway, they said i had a bad tire because when it moved it to the other side it pulled to the other side when transfering the weight. this was a couple weeks ago and i hadn't gotten around to changing it. but, i was just tonight wondering how a bad tire could cause an instant reaction to transer. how does a directional push work in relation to a bad tire?

Boy, I'm no expert, but if the tire was moved and the dynamic changed with the move then there proabably is a correlation? Wow, doesn't that help!!

What do you mean by a "bad" tire?

i dunno don, they just said a bad tire. the darn tires are a whole 2k miles old too. guess i'm gonna buy new tires and see if that takes care of it.

sounds like balogney for sure. Have the alignment check especially with h&r coil overs. Sometimes they don't seat them properly with the hats Yikes! Really thought it sounds like torque steer which is caused by improper toe and or camber combination. Set it at -.5f -1.4r and toe 0 or maybe a little in if you drive freeways a lot and don't want it to be too hunty.
