I have an 06 C2S that has lately developed an increasingly odd behaviour in the engine compartment fan. Often the fan will come on for a couple of minutes, shut off for about 20 seconds and then come back on. This happens regardless of ambient temperature (-10C to +10C) It comes on when highway driving or around town. It generally runs when the water temp is about 80 and and the oil temp is about 90. Sometimes when I shut off the ignition and restart, the fan will not come on for some time. Any ideas?

There was a firmware update that fixed some fan problems - check to see if that was done.

Also, check to see that the sensor has not fallen out of its holder and is laying loose.

Thanks Loren for the speedy reply. Any quick tip as to the position of the sensor? I'll also phone the dealer to see if the firm ware was updated.
