What colour is the coolant in my car supposed to be?

(2001 996TT) - would a 996 C4 be any different?

This has been covered here many times before.

Your original Porsche coolant would have been yellowish-green. In 2005 Porsche changed their coolant to a pink colored coolant - that Porsche coolant is 100% compatible with the early coolant.

If you by Porsche coolant you are pretty much guaranteed to not to make Jello.

It suggests that one has silicates and one does not....

In both cases (Audi and Porsche) you want what they call "Lifetime" coolant. Both are without silicates.

Get the Audi/VW G12 Coolant which is about $15 a gallon at your local VW dealer, and you will be fine.

I bought the VW G012A8G1G coolant and I compared the coolant ingredients list and it looks like VW one has silicates while the Porsche one didn't. Did I buy the wrong one?
