WTK - Removal of steering wheel covers - '78 911SC

Hi Y'all,

Was wondering if anyone knows how to remove both top and bottom plastic steering wheel covers on a 1978 911SC.

I've removed the 2 screws either side, but am reluctant to force them apart anymore than I have, especially after seeing the price for replace on Pelican Parts :(

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Roni

The top piece (called "pad" in the parts list) is just pressed into place. So carefully pull it straight off. Keep the car warm as older plastic is less brittle when warm.

Thanks for the reply,

Still really tight?!? And still feels fixed to the steering column?
