Upgraded my 2001 Boxster S with the OBC with 4 stalk column switch, 996 GT2 instrument cluster and oil pressure sender. Not as difficult as I thought it would be everything took about 5 hours. Still need to go by the dealer so they can reset the airbag warning and program the convertible top light. I think it looks awesome!

I just got in from the garage after doing mine. The only thing I'm a bit worried about is the difference in fuel displayed. On the Boxster cluster I have just over 1/2 a tank and with the 996 cluster I've got 3/4's. I'm hoping it will sort itself out after I've filled it up. Did your's display the same levels?

They will need to program your cluster (and temporarily the DME) as a Carrera cluster (IPAS codes required). This will allow them to tell the car it is a Carrera Cabriolet.

Then go back and program thee DME back to Boxster. See whall's DIY write-up for all the details.

If the cluster came from a Carrera 4 then it will have to have the cluster re-programmed to C2 and the fuel gauge may need re-calibration.

See whall's DIY write-up on the details.
