It got up to 70 today in Hot Springs, Arkansas so it was a good time to get out the buffer and polish the 2000 Boxster S I bought last week. It turned out fairly decent except for the stone chips, etc on the front.

This is me down at the Honda dealer today. That's where I bought the car. The previous owners traded for a Chevy SSR. It's a coincidence that the Social Security Office is right across the street behind the car. But not a complete coincidenc because my first SS payment is supposed to come in early February. The extra income gave me enough courage to buy a 100k mile Porsche.

Congratulations!

Drive it in health

Polishing tends to make you notice all of the paint chips and imperfections. Driving tends to make you forget about them. I prefer the latter.

Congrats on a beautiful car.

Oh, you're gonna like this car, indeed, at our age, you "need" this car. Any trip, be it a short trip to pick up Chinese take-out, or a 200mi sunny day blast through the hills is just full of smiles. I've had porsches for 35 years, and I still feel 21, after a few 'redlines', every time I drive mine. I bought my latest to celibrate my youngest kids' college graduation. After my years of family austerity (see broke), doing my 'dad' thing, I got a little piece of my youth back. This also involved retirement, so we have more time to enjoy driving. Address the standard problems Boxsters have and drive it in a fearlessly... and with some anger .

Thanks for the reply. Here is another picture I took the same day but didn't post. I sometimes feel the "need for speed" and the Corvette can handle those moments. It has so much power that it's thrilling in a way the Boxster will never match. They're both good cars.

I'm fortunate to live within 1/4 mile of one of the greatest sports car roads in the USA, Arkansas Rt. 7, through the Ouachita mountains. It's hard to resist the inner Mario Andretti while driving it.
