I have an '02 996 Targa and the interior lights do not light when the door opens. I have the interior light switch in the center postiton as well as driver/passenger reading lights in the center position. The lights work with the key in the ignition in either position 1 or when the car is running in position 2. The door lights also come on when the door is opened with the key in P1 or P2. The overhead lights also work when the switches are in the right position with the key in P1 or P2. The lights do not work in any position with the key removed from the ignition.

Any ideas where to get started?

Thank you,

-John

Thank you, is this "let (your dealer) run PIWIS new car delivery" something only a Porsche Dealer can do?

Any shop with a PIWIS tester can run the New Car Delivery program - dealers are require to have PIWIS testers - 3rd party shops that can afford one have one.

Loren,

Thanks for the explanation, now that I’ve replaced a faulty brake switch that had the ABS/PSM on the fritz I can’t wait to get this sorted and start enjoying my Targa.
