Hi, I'm new here. Great forum.

The Driver's side power seat on my '02 996tt won't move with the buttons (the passenger side is ok). I can hear slight click (when the button is pushed) but no movement. Anyone knows a quick check and fix? Thanks.

Also, the driver's side seem to rock back and forth a bit. Kind'a annoying. Any suggestions?

Maybe obvious, but have you checked the fuse panel? There is a fuse that controls each seat operation? Worth checking? However, if it clicks (not from button moving, but from power) maybe check to

see if something is binding the mechanism.

There's apparently no fuse for it. There's nothing binding the tracks. The lower back support won't move either...

If your seats move by pressing buttons then their are fuse for your power seats - only mechanical seats are not fused.

Fuse E3 (30A) is the left seat.

Fuse E4 (30A) is the right seat.

The control box for both seats is also fused - it is E2 (7.5A)

Thanks! It IS the fuse.

I took the car to a Porsche specialist. I asked him specifically if it's the fuse. He said there's no fuse for the seats... And "the seat needed to be removed to check all the connections..." ****, some Porsche specialist...

Do the seats need to be lubricated at some points? It does emit quite a bit of noise when moving, more like grinding...

Thanks again.

Get a flashlight and look underneath the seats. 9 times out 10 a jamming problem is something caught under the seat.

If you decide to remove the seat to clean/inspect remember to disconnect the battery first or you WILL get an airbag light.
