2003 Boxster S

Pulled the key txmtr apart to install a new battery (my wife could not get it to work, felt it was the battery)

Thought I would pull the circuit card out to take a look as the button did not feel right.

Found the key lock button in pieces. Has any one replaced the button or had it done at an electronics shop?

I have checked on cost for a new txmtr, would prefer to fix this one if possible.

Wisdom and BTDT's appreciated.

I assume the button which is soldered on the circuit card, trey to find a faulty remote 986 or 996, the buttons are all the same. Swap them out, it's very easy to do with a decent soldering iron.

Chuck,

If you can find the June 2010 issue of Excellence magazne, there is an illustrated article that shows how to repair transmitters.

Check eBay, I found a five pack of microswitches for £4.90 in UK. Postage cheap as it is a small package.

Very simple procedure, break off old switch & solder new one on. Worked a treat.
