New PCM...can I use latest map DVDs

I recently had the PCM 2.1 in my 05 CTT replaced under CPO warranty. The new (maybe refurbished?) unit has the software updated to Version 4.1 Level C1. I was previously running Version 3.1 Level B with a DVD dated 08.2005. I still have the same map DVD (08.2005), as they only replaced the head unit. It works fine, although on the version screen (what you get when pressing the main and trip buttons) little red warning triangles are next to each line except for "Navigation." Nav system software is 00179412/5004. I have a few questions:

1) Anyone know why these little warning triangles are present?

2) More importantly, can I just buy an ebay OEM map DVD (like a MY08 08.2007) and pop it in and have it work? Or must I find the update CD as well to use the later maps?

I can't figure this out from the TSBs

YES, you can use the "latest" (08/2009) navigation DVD (upgrade of navigation module will be done automatically on the first insertion, but you should better to keep engine running to do not interrupt process, then leave DVD in the shaft and restart PCM).
