What's could be wrong with my clutch pedal?

I have an 2003 996 TT with 30K miles. Here is something I've noticed recently: When I depress my clutch pedal, it feels kinda "rubbery" as I depress it; usually towards the end of the pedal motion going down. This is usually felt when I'm in first and second gear and starts to go away the faster and the higher the gears I shift. I also sometimes hear a creaking sound when the pedal goes down. As far as the shifting is concerned, my gears catch like normal so no observable issues there. No slipping, etc. This "rubbery" feeling and sound is definitely not what I'm used to.

I realize diagnosing a problem on an internet board is definitely not optimal but I'm throwing it out in case others have experienced a similar type clutch 'feeling". Feel free to ask me anything else. What do you think could be going on??

I would check the auxiliary spring system,kind of power system on the pedal, in first place sometimes they will crack.

The pressure accumulator can also fail and cause a lack of pedal assist.

I've gotten feedback that the accumulator issue usually is the problem with cold start-ups. Mine is definitely not only at cold start-ups but when warm and running around town. Someone suggested that it could be a clutch slave cylinder? Any Thoughts on this? appreciate your insights everyone!! I'm gonna have to bring it in but it's good to be equipped with some ideas. (30K service time too!!)

I felt I should report back what I found out to be the issue. I just had the car in for a 30K service and mentioned that I had this clutch pedal feeling...turns out it was the pressure accumulator. Yep. They replaced it and the clutch feels amazingly easy and shifting has never been this fun! I tell you what a difference a new pressure accumulator makes. I really appreciate the feedback and it certainly prepared me for my discussion with the porsche service tech. Hope this helps for others too.

I have had the same problem with my 2001 996 TT. It is a squeaking sound with a squishy feeling - very annoying. My dealer told me it is a non-critical problem with the clitch cylinder that is way too expensive to replace unless absolutely necessary - so I learned to live with it :(

I had my accumulator go out in my 2007 Turbo. Same symptoms. Glad you got it fixed! Pretty common issue in the 996 and 997 turbo's from what I hear...

You should go to another mechanic. it's not that hard of a job and the part is not that expensive..
