I have not drove my 996 for about 2 months,

And found today when I went to start it,

that the battery is completely flat! (forgot to use my porsche battery Maintainer 'trickle charger')

So I was going to jump start my 996 go for a drive to charge up the battery, and do the following:

1. Park it up for the winter (tuck it into bed, in it's garage)

And

2. Connect the porsche battery Maintainer

Will this be enough to bring the battery back to life before winter storage!

Or should I have the battery charged by a garage?

Thanks

James

It will likely depend on the age and condition of your battery.

If your battery is under 4 years old and the specific gravity readings on each cell are good then it will likely come back.

Have the battery fully charged and then load tested; if it passes, hook it up to the maintainer and put it to bed. If it fails, replace the battery first.

Wow thats a fast reply, Thanks Loren,

That battery is only 1 year and a half (old July 2009)

How long a drive should I go for,

to charge up the battery before I place the car into storage?

Thanks
