2001 Boxster S

Right Hand Drive (first owned in the UK, I'm in Ireland)

I have been having issues with lights such as instrument dials back-lights not working and left main beam not working. Figured it was probably the headlight switch so took it out and cleaned the contacts. On putting it back together the fog lights remained on, even with the ignition off.The other two previously mentioned faults were still there too. I tried pulling the Fuse A 7, but they still remained on.

So at present the battery -ve is disconnected, key in ignition to the second detent (to stop the alarm horn), and the front hood is left open.

I've ordered a replacement switch.

Any other ideas as to what could be causing the fogs to stay on? Why does pulling the fuse have no effect?

Thanks

It may not be your lights switch but your ignition switch.

It's a common faulty issue which is basically a wear item.

Check this DIY Guide although you may have to look at the images in a mirror ;)
