I purchased a "brand new" cluster off eBay (knew this deal was too good to be true at $300), and turns out it's not brand new, but rather has 11,000 miles on it. Either way, it's past the 250 mile mark where I can't re-code the mileage. What are the options to re-code the mileage on this thing these days?

Also, when attempting to code the cluster through my PST2, it says "coding only possible after automatic search" or something similar. I did allow the PST to automatically search all modules in the car, and I can see the cluster info, but it will not let me code it. The coding seems correct for my use (996 C2 Cab), but now the CDR23 radio is stuck in "protect" mode. What am I missing?

Finally, the cluster showed up without the two "pegs" used to re-set the odometer and adjust the clock. How can these be replaced?

Other than all that, the cluster is perfect :)

You will need to contact a speedometer specialty shop like Palo Alto Speedometer to change the mileage.

Are you sure it is the correct cluster for your car?

Do you have both the original and new (used) part numbers?

Do a search here for the cluster knobs - there is a guy that posted here that he sells them.

If by "pegs" you mean the shafts that go into the cluster assembly, check this out:

If you mean the actual knobs with which you twist the shafts that go into the cluster assembly, then Richard has your part number.

If you do use PA Speedometer to reset your odometer, check out their web site. You have to download a form that goes into the legalities of odometer resetting that has to be filled out by you. (No big deal, just covers PA Speedomenter's rear.) If you have the parts you need to bring the cluster "up to speed", include them with the cluster if and when you send it to PA Speedometer.

As for the CDR-23, you will need to run a "Sportscar Handover" routine on a PST2 to introduce the radio to the different instrument cluster.
