How old is your battery?

These cars start to do weird things when the battery is about to go.

If you battery is 4 years old or older I would replace it first.

Its rare that the release catch will go, if it does you can release from the inside with a LOT of effort. +1 on the battery

the battery is less then 4 years old. i think it might be a short due to fact that when i would open a window from the driver door it would open the gas door.. is there a digram of the wiring for the driver door panel? and how do i take off the door panel to check?
