Serious oil leak on 99 Boxster

Hi all,

My 99 Boxster is having the oil leak on the passenger side of the engine. The oil dripped to the top of the exhaust pipe and

caused the light smoke after driving a while.

I am not sure if it's safe to continue driving like this.

What's the possible cause of the oil leak? What area around the engine I should check for the oil leak?

I am attatching a picture of the leak under the engine. It's next to the passenger side wheel.

Spark plug tube o-rings and/or cam covers are a common leak source. You are going to have to get under there to see where it is from.

Make sure the oil fill tube isn't cracked and that the seperator isn't stopped up and blowing oil. Both will cause passenger side leaks.
