Porsche dealers sell the rebuilt starter or alternator for that price? Trouble is I need a alternator by tomorrow morning and will have to go with a used one if I can get.

Yes, that is the exchange price for a rebuilt starter from Porsche - if a dealer charges you more then they are gouging you big time. There is already a big markup in all Porsche MSRP.

Get your alternator rebuilt. There are usually many shops thats will rebuild or supply parts to rebuild for under $100 bucks. I rebuild my daughters alternator for her 944S for $13 a few months ago.

Thanks for the heads up and ended up with a good used one, I had to be up and running the next day and did not have time to look into it more, however the used one was abit more so had get a cheaper home. Still works great after 700 + miles.
