Turn Signal Click Sound Chime Failure

Hello,

My turn signal chime, click, noise, buzzer stopped working recently.

I have done a few searches and seems several others have had this problem. Has anyone had any success repairing without a full instrument cluster swap?

Alternately, can anyone suggest a source for a used guage cluster?

2005 V6 6spd Cayenne with approximately 65,000 kms.

A replacement speaker must surely be found some where, Radio Shack perhaps?

I had this on my 06 -- dealer replaced the cluster.

Is the sound coming from a speaker?

On my Jaguar all the sounds come from a speaker in the steering column -- it is part of a small module.

Surprisingly the speaker does indeed fail -- I purchased a slightly smaller replacement from Radio Shack for less than $5.

If indeed a speaker makes the noise in the C I would give replacing it a shot -- The speaker in the Jaguar was extremely small and must have inadequate voice coil.

Mine cluster chime has failed also. Local dealer suggested I call local speedometer shop, he informed me that its a difficult fix and was not interested in repairing.

This has left me out in the cold and sometimes with my turn signal still on.

Any help would be appreciated.

My 2003 Cayenne TT's turn signals do not click either. About two years ago, I found a posting from someone who wrote a nice response about how to fix this problem by going to an electronics store to buy a suitable replacement speaker. This was a much less costly solution than replacing the instrument cluster with a new, used, or rebuilt cluster. But I cannot find the posting. Perhaps it was on another forum. The posting also had photos. If you wrote that posting or know where I can find it, that would be wonderful. Thank you.

Hi, the warning sound for the indicators, lights on etc is produced by a small speaker inside the instrument cluster. Porsche dealers won´t replace it because it´s not sold on it´s own but comes with the cluster. However it is easily bought in any electronics shop and is not hard to replace if you can take or get someone to take out the instrument cluster and the back cover. You´ll have to buy a speaker that´s aproximately the same size, best to take the old one with you to the shop, so that it will click into the same place.
