I just ordered a Durametric to check out why my car (05 996 Turbo S, FVD Flash & Exhaust) is only see .5 bar. No faults or CEL, but on under the Durametric "Ready Status" it shows "Catalytic Converter Efficiency - Fail". Anyone have an idea what this might be?

If it were me, then I'd

1. put the stock exhaust back on and erase the code

2. if the code returns w/ the stock exhaust, then I'd replace the o2 sensors and erase the code

I'm thinking it's either the cats in your aftermarket exhaust or faulty o2 sensor(s).

I'm not familiar with the Durametric diagnostic tool.

But.. can I ask under what conditions you ran the test.

Catalytic Converters don't run under optimum efficiency

unless they are very hot.

Your efficiency test will be a measure of this.

Yes it true, that the O2 sensor will become less

efficient long before being indicated by the CEL.

You may have a better idea as to when it was last changed.

Drive the vehicle at highway speeds but at a high RPM for approx 20km's to burn the cats and O2 sensors clean then retest the system.
