Hey guys,

i have just purchased a base 97, it has come on the upgrade 17' but am looking at changing them

has anyone have any experience with Victor Wheels?

our choices are very limited here in OZ for quality aftermarket wheels for porsche most are cheap replica wheels.

Does anyone have any pics with these wheels?

Also what size would be better for daily driving 18" or 19"

thanks

dsisco:

Before you make that purchase, read the caution given by Porsche against using wheels that are larger than 17" on a 1997 Boxster.

In 1998, the rear bulkhead and other suspension components were beefed up to safely accommodate wheels larger than 17"

IMO, 18" is probably okay if you are not driving the car anywhere near its limits, but 19" is going too far.

For daily driving, the ride provided by the ultra-low aspect ratio of the 19" tires (to maintain the circumference as near as the original) would make for a ride that is too rough for most, especially on anything but the smoothest roads.

Regards, Maurice.

I had the Turismo 20's on my 997. The Victor wheels are very well made and look great. Just be aware that they are going to be heavier that your Stock Porsche wheel (which will effect your handling.)

thanks guys,

its either the Victor Equipment or the replica 997 turbo wheels.

prob best go with the 18s as the ride already is pretty rough compared to my last car. (mercedes e class)

Hi

I have Victor Equipment Turismo on my '00 986 S.

8x18" front and 9.5x18" rear (ie the boxster fitment they offer..)

I wouldn't mind a bit more aggressive offset but for the money these are OK. Worth noting it says "made in China" on the back.. but absolutely no problems for normal use and I've been to the track a few times as well.
