I'm looking for PDFs for installing an aluminum shifther/handbrake on my '03 996 Cab. I'm also looking for instructions on instaling the GT3 console delete, and any opinions on that mod good/bad?

If anyone's got a link or PDF, please let me know.

¡Gracias!

PS: Thanks to Kevin M. form the Roadfly forum for turining me on to this awesome forum!

I like the clean look you get with the console delete. Plus you save 2 or 3 pounds. My own subjective opinion is that the center console piece looks out of place in the 996......guess I'm used to the older 911's which had no front center console. Besides, there was a "buzz" in my console that I couldn't find. But I solved that problem!

An update: The patient laid open. I tried to upload a JPG of the car taken apart, but it won't work.

Important discovery! GT3 dash delete kit doesn't work with Bose option. Too bad too, because I liked the look of it, but there's a subwoofer enclosure there that alters the shape, and doesn't fit the GT3 piece.

Oh, well. The handrake wasn't hard at all, and once I realized my problem with the subwoofer, the rest was a snap.

I'm getting ready to replace the factory door sills with the stainless ones. I'l upload an "After" picture.

PS Any hints with the sills are appriciated. I'm just going to use a blow dryer and string, but it still seems like a total drag, especially up around the door seal.

I just pulled off the doors sills as well.. just used a tool to get under it.. then it just kinda broke off and pulled off.. it wasn't pretty..
