Ok, i have a '77 924. After about a year of tinkering and tuning, I finally got the car running. I took it for a drive and the engine runs strong... It just doesn't seem to have any power. I'm thinking that I need to adjust the timing. Any ideas!?!?

What are you expecting 125 hp from 2.0 litre. It is not a strong car to begin with. Check timing, spark plugs/wires, rotor/distributor/coil and points and condenser if so equipped. Fuel pressure filters. Vacuum leaks. Air filter, MAF.

I have an 87 924S @ 147 hp and 2.5 litre, and after driving the 911, that car feels like a tank. Hell, after driving the 2007 Taurus, that car still feels like a tank.

Good Luck

Thanks for the help!! I'm not looking to be a speed demon, I just can't get the car over 55 mph. Where we live, there is a huge hill called freezeout hill ans I can't get the car over 35mph.

Will the engine rev to redline under load? Check the basics like ignition timing and such but also the exhaust for restrictions.

The engine will not rev to redline under load. I checked the timing, it is dead on. When I checked the spark plugs though, I noticed that cylinders 2 and 3 had oil fouled plugs so I'm thinking I either have a problem with the head gasket, or a problem with the rings. Any other input?

It starts quick, and idles smooth. slower reving... I'm about ready to drop a 350 in her.

Start with the basic and check the compression in each cylinder. Does it idle smooth??
