I'm getting this weird clunking sound in my 2000 C2. I get it if I go over small bumps, accelerate or decelerate fairly quick, or turn the car sharply at slow speeds. I thought it was the suspencion but I now can make the same sound by pulling back or pushing in on the steering wheel if I do it hard. I wonder if it is the steering linkage or something else. Anyone have and ideas on this? Thanks

All of your symptoms sound like mine except I haven't tried the steering wheel "push-pull" thing. Mine is a clear thump or knock under the passenger's left foot. Took it to the dealer and he said it's a couple of warn mechanical arms on the (I think) stabilizer bar. No matter, they're $50 each (x2) and an hour of labor to replace. Cheap enough for a very annoying problem. Seems odd a metal part, not the bushings, will wear out in 48K miles. Granted, it's a MY99.

I had this on mine, and it was the anti-roll bar drop links. (Maybe you call it the stabiliser bar). The joints on one end had worn, causing the clonking sound. "Cheap" and easy to fix - less than $100 for the parts.
