Hi,

I have a 2005 997 Carrera Manual - Houston, Tx.

Sometimes when I'm leaving a red light or controlling the clutch on a ramp a hear a grinding noise.

When the car was under the warranty, I took it to the dealership and they lubricate the clutch switch and the noise went away for a while. Then it happens again, and maybe a third time. Every time they lubricate the shift it would be fine for a month or more and then back to make the same noise. One day one of the shift cables broke (day after the warranty ended)they fixed under warranty. Now the noise is back.

If I let the clutch go without pressing much the gas paddle it will not make a noise, but if I move both at the same time...most the time it will cause it to happen.

The car drives completely normal, no problem changing gears (first can be a bit difficult sometimes..but I believe this is normal)...so I'm not in the rush to fix it...but I would like to know if anybody has the same problem or know what it is.

Thank you for your help!!!

Do you think that I have any chances? The warranty was out in November 2009.

Should I go back to the same dealer (there are several in Houston), should I send I letter directly to Porsche USA?

Thank you very much for your help!!!

If you have records of a reoccurring problem - then the dealer or Porsche should fix it. There are lemon laws here - they can't just fix it long enough to get you out of warranty. If it is is the same failure over and over - then the lemon laws go into play.
