Got 2002 Boxster 2.7L, I do not have the code to unlock my stereo. Where can I find this code? I do not have the service manual.

Have heard if I take the stereo out, its written on it too, can anyone help?

Of course going to the dealer is one option, but is there any other way?

I'd like to sing along this weekend..... :help:

I assume that you have the CDR-220. The CDR-23 does not have a (user) code.

Some dealers put the code on the inside for the hood (next to the option codes). I think Porsche recommended dealers to start doing this also for cars that came in for service for the last year or so.

If you have the manuals, check for a loose card - it should have the (4 digit) number on it. Some owners stick it in the radio manual or write it inside this manual. Flip through the cover, maybe some pages and look for a 4 digit number.

It won't be on the radio, but you'll need the unit's serial number (with VIN number) for the dealer to look up the radio code.

You could try calling your dealer with your serial number to see if they will call Porsche to get the radio code for you...

To get the serial number, power up the unit and hold down the "TP" button for like 10 seconds. The unit will beep, use the knob to scroll over a few times and you'll see a seven digit number, preceded by a letter. Take that number down and call your dealer with it.

Thanks a bunch.

Is there a site on the Internet where if I enter the VIN # and the serial # I could get the code?

The dealer here want $200 for code and the fist available appointment is December 6th!

Do let me know if there is ANY possibility other than the dealers.

Thanks for replying

I ran into a similar situation where I didn't have the radio code card either. However, right before I took it to the dealer to get the code, I found it on one of my service orders.

However, I found out that You can use the TP method to get the unit's serial number from the unit and contact Becker North America parts department. They can be reached at (888) 423-3537x1209.

As stated, try Becker. No clue if there is a Becker dealer in Dubai. With Becker North America they fax you a form to prove you ownd the radio and charge you about $30 to look up the code.

You can also do a google search for becker radio code and there are private companies who will supply the code for a fee.

Issue sorted, called up Porsche North America for help and they arranged the code for me :)

Also found out that www.decoderz.com can provide the code. Very reasonable.

So now its all musicky....

ps. PTEC that thing of getting the Serial # via the TP button was very helpful.
