Hello I'm trying to help my Dad resolve this issue he's been having with his porsche. Ever since he bought it the radio hasnt really worked. It used to come and go, but now it doesnt even light up. He says him and my mother have run out of things to talk about and he needs a working audio system ASAP. I was able to find a fuse box diagram online but none of the fuses appear blown. The battery has died a few times, so I know we have to enter this code, but no words appear on the radio screen, not even a backlight. Perhaps it is a loose connection? Perhaps there is a relay I could change? I also noticed that above the radio the a/c screen doesnt work..

Thanks in advance for any help..

I would start by checking to see if power is found at the radio connector. I have a wiring pinout diagram here (http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/Boxster_Tech/88-ELEC-Radio_Install/88-ELEC-Radio_Install.htm).

The A/C unit being out is suspect too. That is too much of a coincidence - maybe there is a pinched wire somewhere or a bad ground. If the fuse inside / on the back of the radio is blown, then that seems to indicate that there was a crossed connection at one time and it might have also damaged the A/C unit too. I don't think the A/C units have separate fuses...
