i have a 2007 997 turbo, about year ago after installing the suspension, i checked with durametric and i was getting a rear module error , not sure what it is

Rear Selected

About to get fault codes

moduleType = Rear9x7

DTC Count = 1

Fault Number:49448

Description:Communication PAS (comfort)

Repair Infomation:control modue

------------------------------------------------

after resetting i get this it failed to initialize then it was fine

-------------------------------------------------------

moduleType = Rear9x7

DTC Count = 1

Fault Number:0

Description:Module Failed To Initialize

Repair Infomation:Check the status in the lower left corner of the screen. Make sure the key is in the ON position. The vehicle may not have this option or there may be a wiring problem to the computer. This could also be a module that simply failed to respond.

today i reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery and the rear module consistently fails to initialize, questions --what was the first error with rear and pas communications , and why is it not initializing now at all. i just intstalled a new exhaust, there are no other errors (only from the batt disconnect)

loren any insight?

Sometimes the front and rear controllers need to be re-programmed. You will need a PIWIS to do this.

Unless you have some other physical problem with the car I would not worry about these insignificant codes.

Also have your laptop connected to the A/C power supply. Sometimes the CPU slows down when running off battery power and the data transfer rate falls out when trying to communicate with some modules.

thanks guys, so here is the new scoop, i loaded a newer version of durametrics, it now reads the rear, but takes a long time, it now shows left tail light code and and unknown dtc code, i am assuming that is the right tail light, as i had started the car with tail lights disconnected, i tried erasing the codes , but fail to initialize, so basically now i can read the rear but not clear the codes . hmm. i will try applying power to pc
