Location Of Crankcase Sensors On My 99-996-3.4

Hi can anyone help here i am trying to locate the crankcase sensors on my 99-996 3.4.carrera.

any advice would be appreciated.

Which sensor do you mean?

If you mean the sensor for crankshaft TDC position, I believe this is done with the hall-effect sensor on the camshaft. On US 3.4 cars there are sensors on both banks, but on RoW cars, there is only one sensor on bank 1, near cylinder #3.

Edit: If you mean the engine speed sensor, this is an inductive device which is mounted above the ring gear on the flywheel. Not sure exactly how you get to it though.

Crankcase sensor search in PET catalog shows the knock sensor. Listed as #33? Perhaps that helps?

Are you sure, I thought it was 31 in that picture above. Mine leaks a little BTW, need to put a new o ring on it.

33 is definitely the knock sensor. PET lists 31 as a "Pulse sender", so it would seem that it is the engine speed sensor.
